German govt announces IT measures for Zitis security centre

Following terrorist attacks in Bavaria, German home secretary Thomas de Maiziere has presented a catalogue of security measures to prevent any further attacks, reported Heise.de. These include video monitoring, biometric scans and increased internet surveillance. De Maiziere aims to base the new cyber-investigation capabilities within a new, national IT security centre called Zitis, announced in July.
