German govt asks firms to provide IT staff for cyberdefence

Germany's national Interior Ministry and the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) have proposed asking businesses to make their IT specialists available to the government free of charge to deal with cyberattacks, according to newspaper Die Zeit's website and Netzpolitik.org. The BSI has confirmed the plans, said Die Zeit, but would not go into details. The document seen by the newspaper and Netzpolitik, a digital freedom platform, proposed that companies should sign up to a cyberdefence contract
