German govt says no plans to force state access to encrypted messenger services

The government follows the principle of "security through encryption and security despite encryption," said a spokesperson to the news agency Dpa. However, the providers would have to allow "state access as a statutory exception". A draft bill has not been written yet, the spokesperson said.
