German group calls for more sustainable telecoms products

The German Environmental Relief (DUH) group demands a radical transformation by telecoms manufacturers and distributors in light of the increasingly short life of their products. According to DUH, there are only a few energy- and resource-efficient devices on the market that carry the Blue Angel eco label by the Federal Environment Agency (UBA); Deutsche Telekom is the only telecoms company in Germany that uses the label for its cordless Speedphone.
