German H1 ICT exports up 0.4%, imports up 1.6%

Exports of German communications equipment such as network technology or telephone exchange hardware rose by 5.1 percent in the first half of 2014 to EUR 5.9 billion, according to tech sector association Bitkom, citing figures from the Federal Statistics Office. It said exports of IT hardware such as computers, printers and accessories were stable at EUR 6.4 billion, but entertainment product exports fell from EUR 2.1 billion to EUR 1.8 billion. Total exports of all ICT products went up by 0.4 percent to EUR 14.2 billion between January and June.
