German industry groups call for Gigabit broadband strategy

German telecoms industry groups Anga, Breko, Buglas and VATM, and the FTTH Council Europe, have issued a joint statement calling for changes to Germany's national broadband policy to help make the country fit for a 'Gigabit Society'. The roll out of sustainable and future-proof communications infrastructure must be accompanied and supported by a far-sighted and reliable economic and regulatory policy. They want changes made to the national broadband policy, with a future agenda focusing on a real 'Gigabit' strategy and a level playing field for all operators. The groups believe that Gigabit
