German internet users reluctant to protect themselves online

Over half (55%) of internet users in Germany protect themselves with software or other security and privacy protection functions, according to the YouGov study 'Cyber Risks in the private sphere'. The study relates this relatively small number to the indifference of users; 46 percent of the respondents consider protection against dangers on the internet superfluous because hackers would always find gaps in security.
