German licensing commission issues checklist for streaming providers

The German Commission on Licensing and Supervision (ZAK) has released a revised checklist to help providers of online streaming services determine whether they are required to apply for a broadcasting license in Germany. While the ZAK has made checklists available for web TV providers since 2011, the revised version is explicitly targeted toward streaming service providers and aims to address questions they may have on licensing issues. For streaming services that need to apply for a broadcasting license, the ZAK said it will soon release two forms on its website for natural and legal persons
