German market for pay-VoD set to lift revenues 25% to nearly EUR 4 billion in 2021

The German market for paid video streaming (Pay-VoD) is set to generate revenues of EUR 3.8 billion in 2021, up 25 percent from 2.0 billion in 2020, according to figures published by consulting and research firm Goldmedia. Revenues grew significantly again in 2020 by 28 percent. The Covid-19 pandemic and new platforms such as Disney + were the drivers of the sharp rise in the use of streaming services.
