German market for smartphones, consumer electronics expected to decline this year - Bitkom

The smartphone market in Germany is expected to decline to 19.7 million devices this year compared to 21.9 million in 2019 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, according to the study Future of Consumer Technology conducted by the digital industry association Bitkom. Smartphones will generate an estimated EUR 10.6 billion in revenues in 2020, a slight decrease of 0.9 percent compared to the record year 2019. The average price for a smartphone has increased by 10 percent. This year consumers spend on average EUR 539 on a smartphone, EUR 50 more than last year.
