German Monopoly Commission chief calls for govt to sell stake in Deutsche Telekom

Thursday 3 January 2019 | 11:18 CET | News
The president of Germany's Monopoly Commission, Achim Wambach has called for the sale of the government stake in Deutsche Telekom in order to avoid a conflict of interest in the upcoming 5G auction, Welt am Sonntag newspaper reported. On the one hand, the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Federal Network Agency are organising the auction, while on the other hand the government has an interest in an adequate dividend and profitability of the company, said Wambach.
