German regulator threatens to fine mobile operators over coverage on trains, highways

The German Federal Network Agency, Budensnetzagentur, is threatening to fine mobile network operators for lack of high-speed internet service on trains and along highways, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reports citing a report from the agency. The authority is carrying out an overall assessment of mobile coverage. Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone and Telefonica Germany ought to have met the requirements for mobile reception by the end of 2019, following the auction in 2015.
