German retail industry forms m-payments initiative

Germany's EHI Retail Insitute has formed a partnership with payment industry leaders to help promote mobile payments in the country. Initial members include Blue Code, Girocard, Google Germany, GS1 Germany, Ingenico Payment Services, MasterCard, Payback, Roqqio, Visa and Wirecard. The aim is to spread information about the various mobile payment technologies and services, to help retailers offer their customers the optimal range of options. The initiative will also serve as a platform for dialogue in the industry.
