German software company Nextcloud files competition complaint against Microsoft

Monday 29 November 2021 | 10:10 CET | News
German software company Nextcloud has filed a complaint with the Federal Cartel Office (Bundeskartellamt) against Microsoft's dominant market position, said company founder Frank Karlitschek, Heise Online reports. Nextcloud's complaint states that Microsoft is using its power to sell packaged products for Microsoft Office. The company adds that Microsoft has created a "unique digital ecosystem across several strategically important markets in the digital sector", which leads to a "position that is difficult to attack for competitors".
