German SPD MPs present policy paper for fibre strategy

Fifteen young SPD party members in the lower house of the German parliament, the Bundestag, have presented a policy paper in which they press for a fibre strategy, heise.de reports. The politicians are demanding modern, highly efficient networks that are mainly based on fibre. More than half of the government's EUR 10 billion investment package as well as a crucial portion of the EU's EUR 315 billion investment programme should go straight into the broadband expansion and digital networks, according to the SPD politicians.
