German telecom intercepts increased in 2014

The German federal intelligence service (BND) has extended the internet and phone surveillance permitted by law in 2014, according to a report by the competent Parliamentary Control Panel (PKGr) cited on heise.de. A total of 25,209 telecommunications interceptions occurred in 2014, compared to 15,401 in the previous year.
