Germans consider e-payment important but unsafe – survey

Around 86 percent of Germans consider that security concerns are the biggest hurdle to the use of e-payment systems, according to a survey by German internet economy federation BVDW. The survey among retailers and customers found that more than half of the respondents (57.4%) think that e-commerce is of great importance in daily business and will be even more so in the future (88.9%). As to mobile commerce, 64.8 percent of the respondents consider that it is still of little to medium importance, but 71 percent think that it will significantly gain in importance within the next two years.
