Germans consume nearly 9 hours of audiovisual media per day

Germans consumed just under nine hours of audio-visual media per day on average in 2017, up from 8.5 hours in 2016, according to a new study from the VPRT, Germany's federal association of commercial broadcasters. Radio and television were by far the most heavily consumed media with a combined total of seven hours of daily use, while audio and video content streamed online accounted for another hour of media consumer per day. Germans consumed just under one hour per day of other types of media, including video games, the cinema or CDs and DVDs, found the study.
