Germans do not trust mobile payments

Some 88 percent of Germans worry that data can be hacked and misused during mobile payments, according to a survey among 1,020 adults on behalf of the auditing company PwC. It found 85 percent of respondents think that there is an increasing risk of phone being stolen, and payment data being used for criminal activity. Meanwhile, 72 percent of people asked reckon that mobile payment services tempt people to shop faster. According to the survey, 75 percent of Germans have never used mobile payments; 40 percent stated that they would not consider doing so in the future.
