Germans open to remote control alternatives - survey

German TV viewers are open to alternatives to the traditional remote control. Around 30 percent of TV users aged 14 or older would like to give voice instructions to the TV, while 25 percent would like to use their smartphone or tablet, according to a recent survey conducted on behalf of IT association Bitkom. In addition, 18 percent of the respondents could imagine controlling the programme via gestures. Especially young viewers are interested in intuitive control. Among those aged between 14 and 29, 38 percent would like to use voice control, 33 percent would like to use their mobile phone
