Germans spend over EUR 375 mln on EU roaming fees

German consumers spent more than EUR 375 million on EU roaming costs in the last year, portel.de reports. Online comparison portal schlaubi.de questioned 1,1714 Germans about their EU mobile roaming costs. More than 1 in 5 (22%) respondents have been met with a higher mobile phone bill after returning from a holiday within the EU within the last 12 months, with an average charge of EUR 39 on top of their standard mobile bill. A total of 1 in 6 (14%) were faced with extra charges of over EUR 50.
