Germany could use 700 MHz for mobile from 2017 - report

Thursday 21 August 2014 | 10:19 CET | News
The 700 MHz frequency band currently used for DVB-T in Germany could be transferred for mobile broadband use as early as 2017, Teltarif.de reported, citing Handelsblatt. In June, it was announced that the migration was being brought forward from 2020 to the middle of 2019, but Handelsblatt says federal network agency BNetzA (BNA) wants to speed the process up further still. BNA could start allocation procedures as early as the end of 2014, it claimed.
