Germany falling behind on digitisation index – BVDW

After an EU index ranked Germany eleventh on a digital economy index, German industry group BVDW has warned the country must promote digitisation. The recently-released EU Index for the Digital Economy and Society put Germany at 11th place, just above the EU average and two ranks lower than last year. The BVDW warned Germany was "failing at digital change." It said Germany had already been beaten and was on par with Malta and Lithuania. It called for the government to make the necessary investments in infrastructure and education.
