Germany may extend mobile spectrum licences in 2025 instead of new auction

Tuesday 30 November 2021 | 16:46 CET | News
The German Federal Network Agency could end up extending the mobile spectrum frequencies at short notice, instead of starting a new auction in 2025, president Jochen Homann told the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. Additional frequencies could become available at a later time during an auction, he added. The last auction took place in 2019 and lasted for 497 rounds and twelve weeks, bringing total revenues of around EUR 6.6 billion.
