Germany names 7 new digital hub cities

Germany's economy ministry announced the next seven 'digital hubs' which will receive support for cultivating new companies and technology. The cities selected are Cologne, Dresden/Leipzig, Karlsruhe, Stuttgart, Ludwigshafen/Mannheim, Potsdam and Nuremberg/Erlangen. Darmstadt will also join the fintech hub in Frankfurt to focus on cybersecurity. The hubs aim to bring together start-ups with more established companies in industrial cities, to help promote joint development. The locations are also promoted internationally to try and attract new businesses.
