The German government has raised its alert level for cyberattacks ahead of parliamentary elections, warning that attacks are already in progress, according to a report by Reuters. The alert level has been increased to "heightened readiness". German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) president Arne Schoenbohm said government networks were being attacked "on a daily basis", but did not give further details. He confirmed that the BSI office was working closely with election officials, political parties and the federal states to ward off cyberthreats and stand ready to react.
