Germany to amend WLAN legislation further

The Ministry of Economic Affairs is intending to propose amendments to Germany's WLan legislation, which was introduced just three months ago. A proposed new bill would see owners of public businesses who offer WLAN indemnified against the costs of warnings if customers download illegal content on their networks, according to a report in RP Online. Moreover, the Ministry department head Sigmar Gabriel (SPD) is seeking to clarify that businesses are not required to encrypt their WLAN.
