Germany TV sales down to EUR 4.3 bln in 2014 - GfK

Approximately 7.7 million TVs were sold in Germany in 2014, according to the GfK Panelmarket. This is an increase of more than 5 percent compared to 2013. At the same time, the turnover fell to EUR 4.3 billion due to a decrease in the average price of a TV. Especially the second quarter of 2014 saw a significant increase in sales compared to 2013, due to the World Cup. Approximately 17 percent of all TVs sold in 2014 were already 50 inches or larger. Value wise, this segment was responsible for 36 percent of the turnover.
