Ghana seeks USD 100 mln for rural telephony programme intended for completion by end-2020

The Ghanaian government is seeking USD 100 million to boost access to telecom services in rural zones, reports Ecofin. Communication Minister Ursula Owusu-Ekuful said it aims to offer voice and data services to residents in zones that do not have telecom signals. She said the government has already approved the project and her department is negotiating with the finance ministry to obtain funds.
