Ghanaian mobile money transactions double in first 8 months

The value of mobile money transactions in Ghana has significantly doubled in the last twelve months, according to latest statistics from the Bank of Ghana. Its Summary of Macroeconomic and Financial Data says the total value of transactions increased by 110 percent eight months into 2020 from the same period in 2019.  The Central Bank said that the value rose by 26.5 percent from GHS 32.8 billion in April to GHS 41.5 billion in May.
