Gilat Satcom unveils VSAT service for southeast Africa

Gilat Satcom has launched a new VSAT service to provide Southeast Africa with high-bandwidth internet connectivity. It is based on Gilat Satellite Networks' SkyEdge 2 technology and operates over the Amos 5 Ku-beam, covering from South Africa to the northern reaches of the Democratic Republic of Congo, and aims to provide high bandwidth from 512/256 kbps to 2048/512 kbps. The service is designed to provide subscribers with continuous, high-speed broadband connectivity under all weather conditions with low-cost kit.
