Giving young children mobile phones affects academic performance - study

New research by Ireland's Economic & Social Research Institute (ESRI) shows that children who own a mobile phone at 9 performed less well in tests at 13. The research, funded by ComReg and the Department of Communications, is based on data from 8,500 children in the 'Growing up in Ireland' study.
