Global Ethernet switch market hits record USD 6.2 bln in Q4

Revenues for the worldwide Ethernet switch market (Layer 2/3) reached a record USD 6.2 billion in the fourth quarter, up 3.8 percent from the year before and 3.6 sequentially, according to the latest report from IDC. For the full year, the market expanded by 3.9 percent from 2013. Meanwhile, the worldwide total router market reversed recent year-over-year declines to grow 2.5 percent year-on-year and 5.6 percent sequentially.
