Global Ethernet switch market up 2.1% year-over-year in Q1

The worldwide Ethernet switch market (Layer 2/3) reached USD 5.28 billion in the first quarter, representing year-over-year growth of 2.1 percent, according to a study by IDC. On a sequential basis, the Ethernet switch market declined 7.6 percent over Q4 2012. The worldwide router market decreased 7.9 percent year-over-year and 13 percent quarter-over-quarter in Q1.
