Global internet averages 5.1 Mbps in Q2 - Akamai

The average global internet connection speed reached 5.1 Mbps in the second quarter, up 3.5 percent from the previous quarter, according to Akamai's latest 'State of the Internet' report. South Korea continued to have the highest average speed in the world, despite a 2.1 percent decrease from the first quarter to 23.1 Mbps, while Singapore maintained its position as the country with the highest average peak connection speed after a 12 percent quarterly jump to 108.3 Mbps.
