Global PC sales to fall 8.7% this year and continue in 2016

Worldwide PC shipments are set to fall by 8.7 percent this year and 1.1 percent in 2016, before stabilising in 2017, according to the latest data from IDC. The researcher revised down its earlier predictions due to a number of factors, above all the decline of major currencies relative to the US Dollar, the large inventory of notebooks from prior quarters, free upgrades of Windows 10 and a relative dearth of newer models in the short term.
