Global semiconductor sales to contract 2% to USD 459 bln in 2019 - study

Global semiconductor revenues will fall to USD 458.5 billion this year, down around 2.2 percent year on year, in what will be the first significant slowdown in the market since 2012, according to a report from Taiwain's Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute (MIC). The fall is attributed in part to a decrease in the price of memory ICs (integrated circuits), offset by growing demand for AI technology.
