Global server revenues end winning streak to fall 3.6% in Q1

Thursday 2 June 2016 | 13:00 CET | News
Vendor revenue in the worldwide server market fell 3.6 percent from the year before to USD 12.4 billion in the first quarter, according to the latest study from IDC, which showed worldwide server shipments down 3.0 percent to 2.2 million units. The decline ends a seven quarter streak of year-on-year revenue growth as server market demand slowed due to a pause in hyperscale server deployments as well as a clear end to the enterprise refresh cycle.
