Global smartphone shipments to reach 1.40 bln units in 2015

Friday 20 March 2015 | 21:13 CET | News
A total of 1.401 billion smartphones will be shipped globally in 2015, according to Digitimes Research. This figure will represent an increase of 16.4 percent compared to the previous year. The shipment growth is mainly because of high growth in demand in emerging markets including India, Southeast Asia and Latin America, Digitimes Research indicated. Android will represent 78.5 of total smartphone shipments in 2015, followed by iOS (16.6%), Windows (4%) and BlackBerry (0.6%).
