Global smartphone shipments up 20% in Q1

The number of smartphone shipments reached 350.9 million in the first quarter, an increase of 20 percent from a year earlier, according to estimates by Juniper Research. Samsung retained leadership of the smartphone market, despite the company's shipments falling to just under 82 million, the market researcher said.
