Global tablet demand strong in Q2 but component/transport constraints imperil H2 - study

The global tablet market saw a fifth consecutive quarter of growth in the three months to end-June but constraints on the supply of components weighed on the market, research showed. Demand for tablets was boosted by remote learning and working but growth in shipments was flat compared with the first quarter, and a report by Strategy Analytics warned that higher component and transportation costs may drive prices for the devices higher in the second half of 2021.
