Global TV sales worth USD 86 bln in 2016, driven by China

Global TV shipments are set to flatten out this year at 225 million units, compared to a 2 percent decline in 2015, with the market starting to turn around thanks to the growing popularity of 4K UHD and Smart TVs, according to a report by Futuresource Consulting. The total value of the market will hit USD 86 billion in 2016, driven by a 5 percent growth in China, which accounts for one out of every five TV shipments on the planet, and significant increases in countries such as France, Germany and the UK. The report forecasts a 3 percent CAGR for the market out to 2020, thanks to strong growth
