Globalstar revenues lift 6% in Q1

Mobile and satellite services provider Globalstar said revenues for the first quarter rose to USD 20.5 million from 19.3 million the year before. The company attributed the 6 percent rise to both service as well as subscriber equipment sales revenue. Service revenue lifted 6 percent year-on-year to USD 16.2 million, driven mainly by a 21 percent increase in Duplex revenue, itself pushed by improved network performance leading to higher minutes of use and an increase in the number of revenue-generating subscribers. The company deactivated around 26,000 suspended or non-paying Duplex
