Gogo launches new inflight modem

Tuesday 1 August 2017 | 11:29 CET | News
Gogo announced that its new modem was introduced into commercial airline service. The proprietary features of the new modem are meant to significantly increase throughput from the satellite to end-users on the aircraft, the company said in a press release. The modem is capable of delivering more than 16-times the throughput of Gogo's existing modem. The new modem will be installed on more than 450 aircraft on which Gogo's 2Ku or Ku systems are installed. In addition, the 2Ku system installed on Gogo's backlog of more than 1400 aircraft will include the new modem.
