Gol T to close in Spain, replaced by new channel Mega

Spanish sports-themed pay-DTT channel Gol T is to close at the end of the current football season and will be replaced by a new channel called Mega, operated by the broadcaster Atresmedia, reports website Neeo. Gol T was launched in 2009 by Mediaset but, thanks to a deal with Atresmedia, the latter will be able to take over Gol T's licence for its new channel Mega, which begins broadcasting from 01 July. In the meantime, all of Gol T's workers will join the new beIN Sports channel to be launched in Spain on 01 August, said the report. BeIN Sports was previously called Al Jazeera Sport and
