Google and Akamai join Costa Rica IXP project

Google and Akamai have joined the IXP project promoted by the organisation NIC Costa Rica, reports El Financiero. Another company that could also join is Cloudfare, a provider of websites responsible for 15-20 percent of the content read by Costa Ricans. There are already 21 companies in the IXP, including the operators Boomerang, Claro, Fibernet, Fratec, Inasol, Japi, Luminet, Netsys, Telefonica, Cabletica, Tigo, Ufinet, WorldCom, Transdatelecom and Telecable.
