Google completes USD 2.6 bln acquisition of Looker after getting UK clearance

Google has completed its USD 2.6 billion acquisition of Looker. The deal was announced in June but came under scrutiny in December from the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), which wanted to make sure it would not reduce competition. The deal was also cleared by the US Department of Justice and the Austrian Federal Competition Authority. Looker and its team will be integrated into Google Cloud, with more details about the product integration plans and roadmap to come out over the coming months.
