Google discontinues Daydream VR platform, Daydream View VR headset

Google said at its annual hardware event it discontinued the further development of Android's built-in VR platform Daydream as well as stopped selling its Daydream View VR headset. Google said it did so as the wide acceptance by consumers and developers it hoped for did not materialise. The company also said that it noticed some clear limitations constraining smartphone VR from being a viable long-term platform. Google's latest Pixel phones, Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, don't support the VR platform. Daydream won't be supported in future devices, but the Daydream app and store will continue to
