Google hits 1.5 mln Wi-Fi users at India railway stations

Google has announced it has reached 1.5 million users of its free Wi-Fi service at India railway stations. Google provides this public Wi-Fi service in partnership with Indian state-owned company RailTel, which offers internet services as RailWire. The service is currently available at 19 stations across India. Google has also announced it is only at approximately 20 percent of the rollout schedule for this year. Google saw 100,000 users connect to the network within a week of launch at Mumbai Central.
