Google starts first Impact Challenges in Africa

Google has launched the first African Google Impact Challenges in Kenya, South Africa and Nigeria. The company is offering USD 2 million in grants in each country to nonprofits and social enterprises that have a compelling technology-based project that can improve society on a local or national scale. The money will be shared across four winners and eight runners up in each country. Charles Murito, Country Manager, Google Kenya said the company wants to encourage non-profits to consider how technology and innovation can help them reach their goals.
